Abstract:

Person-centred care (PCC) has been developed for several years in different contexts of care. Osteopathic principles seem to be aligned with this concept. This article is a reflection from clinicians and educators about definition and implication of PCC. It explores how PCC could be integrated in a multilevel feature in education and practice. Different related concepts are also explored: person-centred communication, diagnosis and clinical reasoning or patient reported outcomes measures. These reflections highlight the ambiguity that appears in French legislative texts that are not fully aligned to the best evidence, but also in our experience the ambiguity between PCC and education which is challenged to move to a biopsychosocial model of care in osteopathic education institutions.
