Abstract:

Several tests have been developed in the past for evaluating the existence of a block in the sacroiliac joint. To investigate which test was clinically most valuable, we random-tested 45 patients. Six of the most frequently used tests were performed on each left sacroiliac joint, without comparison against the right side. Each patient was independently investigated by three different highly skilled physicians. Intraobserver agreement of the different tests was examined. The diagnostic value of most tests was surprisingly low in this investigation.
