Abstract:

Triggerband Technique is a soft tissue manipulative approach that is used in the treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It is based on the premise that distorted or injured fascial bands are the cause of many types of musculoskeletal discomfort and that correction of these distortions will result in a reduction or elimination of both the pain and the somatic dysfunction. Trigger-band Technique is a treatment for acute syndromes, such as lumbar sprain, whiplash injuries, headaches of a nonorganic nature, 'pulled muscles' and other athletic and nonathletic musculoskeletal problems. In addition, many chronic pain syndromes such as failed back surgery, frozen shoulders, 'arthritic-like' pain, 'pseudosciatica' and fibromyalgia often respond to this therapy.
