Abstract:

Regarding the sagittal-frontal-transversal-system, joints normally present three-dimensional coupled movements. These movements can be described by the concept of the helical axis of motion. The axis itself is defined by localisation and orientation. These parameters change during motion. In 3D-kinetics we are confronted with a broad range of variety concerning inter-and intraindividual differences. Hence the border between function and dysfunction becomes fuzzy. Therefore during treatment there will be no way around answering complex individual forms of motion.
