Abstract:

The Still technique has many advantages in patients receiving Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment due to being quick, accurate, safe, and effective. While the Still technique is efficient and versatile, there are a few situations, such as joint replacements of the hip or knee or decreased internal/external rotation, that inhibit a safe and effective treatment. This article describes a modified approach using the Still technique for the upslipped innominate (or superior innominate shear) to broaden the patient population who can safely and comfortably receive treatment. This article also describes the additional indications, contraindications, and problem-solving techniques for this treatment.
