Abstract:

In osteopathy, the practitioner is frequently confronted with the effects of external forces that lie beyond the individual's resilience limit. In order to eliminate the imprints of these transresilient forces, the author would like to present an adapted Balanced Membranous Tension by W.G. Sutherland DO; the Balanced Impact Tension technique. This 10-dimensional approach enables the osteopath to apply the relevant key parameters to the true nature of a shock event. With the correctly applied BIT, the practitioner inevitably comes into contact with shock energy and tissue memory, which can be a deep enrichment in the daily work as a therapist, but, however, also be a burden that should not be underestimated. Sound knowledge of the physics of shock and tissue memory can help to work efficiently and gently. As a result of this multidimensional release process, the tissue can finally let go of its legacy, forget what it has experienced and regain its natural connection to basic vitality and tissue breathing.
