Abstract:

A prospective study on 1128 newborns in the age of 1-3 days on a delivery-station should prove the effectiveness of osteopathic treatment on newborns with sucking dysfunction. 111 newborns, that could not be nursed, were examined pediatrically and osteopathically and were treated directly osteopathically. With 98 newborns, a unique treatment led to the success and they could be nursed on the same day. 13 newborn got a second treatment that also succeeded, on the consequence-day. The approach manner of the examination and the applied treatment techniques will be expanded.
