Abstract:

In A.T. Still enables the philosophy of osteopathy to generate fundamental knowledge. The special skills and therapeutic attitude of an osteopath are required for the qualified exercise of the profession. A.T. Still described these basics in four books. After the philosophical-ethical background of Still‘s reflections was presented in the first part of the article, the second part works out three specific professional roles of the osteopath: the philosopher, the machinist and the osteopathic doctor. Original language Zusammenfassung: In der Sicht von A.T. Still ermöglicht es die Philosophie der Osteopathie, fundamentales Wissen zu generieren. Zur qualifizierten Ausübung des Berufes braucht es die speziellen Fähigkeiten und die therapeutische Haltung von Osteopath*innen. Die Grundlagen beschrieb A.T. Still in vier Büchern. Nachdem im ersten Teil des Beitrags der philosophisch-ethische Hintergrund in Stills Überlegungen dargelegt wurde, arbeitet der zweite Teil drei spezifische Berufsrollen von Osteopath*innen heraus: Philosoph*innen, Maschinist*innen und osteopathische Doktor*innen.
