Abstract:

Musculoskeletal damage can be a major postpartum problem, and, if left untreated, may affect a women for the rest of her life. Common problems include: Sacrococcygeal pain, symphysis pubis strain, sacroiliac joint strain, lumbosacral joint strain, cervical and dorsal strain. The author recommends osteopathic care continuing through pregnancy (except during the third month) until six months postpartum.
