Abstract:

Disorders in the craniomandibular system, called CMD, are derived from irritations of the stomatognath system as well as from postural problems. Also a diagnostical difference is made between postural and dentoarthrogen symptoms. Special radiological examinations and definite tests proved to be helpfull. Therapy of CMD needs an interdisciplinary work with a close up of osteopathic and dental gnathological treatment. Beside an individual splint therapy also intensive osteopathic interventions are needed, combined with active work by the patient.
