Abstract:

The Strain-Counterstrain technique developed by L.H. Jones for influencing dysfunctions in the motor system is based on three-dimensional positioning of the affected region. The starting point of treatment is a local zone of swelling, referred to by Jones as the tender point. This treatment is reliable and has a wide range of application as a soft technique. However, it has one drawback: it takes time, a lot of time. By integrating a facilitating component in the positioning process, usually compression, the treatment time can be effectively reduced. Opportunities for the use of this facilitated positioning in painful functional disorders of the knee joint are shown, which may affect structures of the knee joint itself as well as interlinked disorders with pain projection into the knee joint region. In addition to its use in functional disorders, the method is also ideally suited to reduce the accompanying functional components in structural changes of the knee joint and can be used effectively even after surgical treatment of the knee joint in the post-surgical treatment.

Die von L.H. Jones entwickelte Strain-Counterstrain-Technik zur Beeinflussung von Funktionsstörungen im Bewegungssystem basiert auf einer dreidimensionalen Positionierung der gestörten Region. Ausgangspunkt der Behandlung ist eine lokale Verquellungszone, von Jones als Tenderpoint bezeichnet. Diese Behandlung wirkt zuverlässig und hat als weiche Technik ein breites Anwendungsspektrum. Allerdings hat sie einen Nachteil: Sie benötigt Zeit, viel Zeit. Durch Integration einer fazilitierenden Komponente in den Positionierungsablauf, meist einer Kompression, lässt sich die Behandlungszeit effektiv verkürzen. Es werden Möglichkeiten zum Einsatz dieser fazilitierten Positionierung bei schmerzhaften Funktionsstörungen des Kniegelenks aufgezeigt, welche sowohl Strukturen des Kniegelenks selbst betreffen als auch auf Verkettungsstörungen mit Schmerzprojektion in die Kniegelenkregion zurückgehen können. Neben dem Einsatz bei funktionellen Störungen ist die Methode auch ideal geeignet, bei Strukturveränderungen des Kniegelenks die funktionellen Begleitkomponenten zu reduzieren und selbst nach operativer Behandlung des Kniegelenks in der Nachbehandlung ist sie gut nutzbar.
